ACIDIC skin is healthy skin

In order for skin to perform at its optimum capacity, in terms of cellular change, it must be ACIDIC; acidic skin is healthy skin, point blank. There's a protective barrier that sits on top of our skin, called the Acid Mantle (AM). It regulates and protects your body from BACTERIA. When the AM is off balance it compromises the skin's biochemistry (caused by improper skincare rituals) and will turn alkaline, propelling bacteria to call their friends over for a party. The pH scale is from 1-14; skin is at its optimum balance at 5.5. How can you ensure that your skin stays acidic? That's easy, just CTM, twice per day, everyday. CTM, cleanse tone moisturizer. Using mild skin-type specific products to cleanse, as well as alcohol-free, non-astringent toners will keep that acid mantle in check. If you're OCD and skin obsessed like me, it may help you to educate yourself on the pH levels of the facial products you use. Some do provide this information on the label, but most do not, in which case you may want to contact the manufacturer. The typical pH level for a good cleanser is around 7.
A mild toner is about 4.5 which will bring down that 7 to the desired 5.5 number that you want.  Don't worry so much about numbers, just remember CTM and you'll stay acid-licious.
