Hyper-Pigmentation like this is caused primarily from the sun. Cumulative sun damage can harm the skin, can render it dry and wrinkled, can destroy precious elastin....and MOST IMPORTANTLY, can put you at risk for skin cancer. You MUST wear sunscreen, head to toe, especially if you live in a tropical climate (where exposed skin is the attire of choice). A
BROAD SPECTRUM SPF, minimum 30, is what I recommend. "Broad Spectrum" protects your skin from UVA (
aging rays), as well as UVB (
burning rays). The face, hands, feet (when wearing sandals), ears, tops of hair-less heads and décolleté are the MOST vulnerable to the sun. With the exception of the face the aforementioned areas are typically overlooked in terms of sunscreen protection.
The photo above concerns me due to the variations in color, as well as the variations in size of her lesions. There are methods to treat this, however, you MUST consult with a Dermatologist, it's the only way to tackle skin like this.
The sun is no joking matter! We all want to look sun-kissed, but at what expense?? Have a recommended Dermatologist check your skin, from head to toe, once per year. Let me repeat that: Have a recommended Dermatologist check your skin, from head to toe, once per year. If you do not have a good Dermatologist, inbox me and I will help you find the best.
