NEVER WAX on the face!

Listen up people!!! I just had a discussion with an owner of a body-wax center. She was adamant on NOT tweezing her brows (and only waxes), claiming that tweezing makes the brows grow back thicker!! This is FALSE information people, completely FALSE. Tweezing, plucking, threading, waxing....it ALL does the same in terms of removing hair from the ROOT. Moreover, the hair doesn't know the difference between tweezing and waxing, it just doesn't.  Epilation of hair from the ROOT, as with the aforementioned techniques, initiates the ANOGEN hair-growth cycle. Which means that hair biology responds the same regardless of how you yank it. The anogen phase is the 1st of three hair-growth cycles, and stimulated by epilation. In other words, it's ok to TWEEZE people!! In fact, NEVER use wax on the face, it compromises the skin's elasticity. Unmentionables should smell as sweet as your exfoliated skin

What to do with all those fragrance samples from the department store? I can never part with my oh-so-pretty, empty Ladurée Macroon boxes, so I fill mine with samples, keep a box in my closet and spritz my lingerie and unmentionables. My drawers are infused with a sweet scent, while my mouth drools over the thought of French macaroons 😜

The ARCH makes all the difference!

If you're wondering where your ARCH is, you may not be looking close enough. Vellus hair (that fine baby fuzz on your face) may have invaded your brow space, fooling you into tweeting away the fuzz.  It is not unual to have variations in hair type (Vellus & Androgen hairs) intermixed within your eyebrows. A brow that lays flat across the face can give you a menacing look, in addition to compromising your facial balance.  I suggest you first SHADE your brows in with pigment (surrounding vellus hairs included....note the vellus hair in the "before" photo above), then tweeze around the true ARCHED shape. A brow without an arch is like a face without a nose. Get yourself a light-up magnifying mirror, and assess where your true brow shape lies. You may find that your long lost arch was there all along.

Avoid Aging HOLLOW Temples

Do you have hollow TEMPLES? Do you even regard the temple-region as a part of the face in need of maintenance? The temples are often overlooked, and do add years of needless aging when neglected. This

area does age significantly, more so for some than others. Fillers such as "Juviderm", "Radiesse" and "Sculptra" (to name a few) are an easy way to correct this problem. However, a fat-injectable may last longer (although some fillers can last up to 24 months in this region of the face).  If you're concerned with your hollowing temples, I suggest you consult with your Dermatologist or Medical Spa doctor; he/she will assess your situation and determine a protocol best suited for you. It's comforting to know that there's a fix for virtually every esthetic issue needing a tweak.......how fantastic!
